Eating at Ataula is like eating in Barcelona without the plane flight. The chef is from Barcelona and the menu is in Catalan (translated, of course). We tasted dishes that we have not had since leaving Spain, like the Rossejat Negro- a squid ink paella made with fideua (pasta). This is the first fideua dish I’ve had in the US that I like as well as mine. The Patatas Bravas were a revelation, so tender and crisp we wanted more. Salt Cod Croquetas were playfully served in a ceramic egg holder with sauce in the empty hollows. We were wishing we had bigger appetites because everything we tried was amazing. We did make room for the Crema Catalana which was very traditional and tasty. We will be going back to Ataula often!
